At the end of the day, Ruma Whitu engaged in 'circle time'. Before sharing how our first day of 2013 went, we all trampled on a piece of paper (pictured above). We then tried to flatten out the paper before everybody told the paper how sorry they were for the damage they caused. And while this may seem RANDOM it was designed to get the class thinking about bullying. This activity was designed to show that we need to be careful about the words we use as they can cause rips, creases, damage, and a dirty feeling that just doesn't go away no matter how hard you try you repair the damage or how many times you say sorry.

In Ruma Whitu we are going to work hard at using words that encourage each other!!

Whaia te iti kahuranga ki te tuahu koe me he maunga teitei

Kia ora koutou katoa

Ko Te Mata O Rongokako te māunga

Ko Tuki Tuki te awa

Ko ngati Pakeha tōku iwi

Nō Heretaunga ahau

Ko Anne rāua ko Robin Pratt ōku mātua

Ko Rob tōku ingoa

Nō reira, e te whanau, ka nui te mihi.

Tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou katoa
